Reflecting on a very special year This week, we enjoyed two ceremonies to formally acknowledge the development, progress, and achievements of all Prep School students. It is wonderful to see every student step onto the Araya Hall stage to be recognised for the DBS values and skills that they have displayed well this academic year. We also enjoyed beautiful musical performances and a superb speech from our Head students, Jani and Liberty. I hope that every student feels a great sense of pride for the growth and development they have made this year. In every school year, every student faces their own unique challenges, and progress looks different for everybody. Our Prize Day ceremonies are a time to celebrate every individual and the success that they have achieved in all areas of school life. This will include increased knowledge, greater confidence, developed skills, or new experiences gained. For all of the DBS Prep School staff, it has been a pleasure to see our students learn, grow

 Hedgehog Class Wow, what an incredible final week! We have focused on recapping and showcasing our learning, and we've had lots of fun and laughter reminiscing about our favorite memories of Year 2. With Prize day celebrating their achievements.  I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them. They have demonstrated confidence, courage, and teamwork. Every day, the Hedgehogs come to school with joy, a smile, and a love for learning. I feel privileged to have been their teacher. I wish them all the best in Year 3.  Well done, Hedgehogs!

Dear Parents and Guardians, It has been an absolute pleasure in this final week seeing all of our students on that stage, be that for Mini Dragons graduation, Prize Days or the graduation of our pioneer Y13 class.  This year had gone extremely quickly and this in part has been because as we have grown, the opportunities for our students have multiplied. When I look back through the calendar, weekends that have events are more than the weekends that don't. I am so proud of all of our students achievements this year in sports, music, the arts, academics, dance, robotics and world scholars events to name a few. There is an expression that comes from boxing- 'punching above your weight' which roughly means to gain results better than expected and beyond one's experience. This has been a year where in almost every area, DBS has been 'punching above its weight'. I look forward to more years at DBS where we continue to do so. The summer time is a time for rest but also

  As we wrap up another incredible year, I want to reflect on our epic achievements and wish everyone an amazing holiday season. This academic year has been one for the books, filled with accomplishments, milestones, and unforgettable memories. Most notably though it is the end of the beginning for the Senior School as it marks our first year of true graduates and leavers, with our Year 13s moving on to greater things. Celebrating Epic Achievements From academic excellence to outstanding performances in sports and the arts, our students have truly outdone themselves. We have seen remarkable progress in various fields, with students achieving top marks in their exams from the Academic Year of 2022/23, winning regional and national competitions, and showcasing their talents in numerous school events. As we reach the final week of the academic year, we are filled with immense pride for our children's achievements. From our youngest Mini Dragons to our Year 2 children, every student has been on a remarkable journey of growth and discovery. Their development and accomplishments are a testament to their hard work and the supportive environment at our school. Throughout the year, our students have embodied our core values of Integrity, Courage, Humility, Empathy, and Generosity. These values have been the foundation of our classroom promises, guiding the children in their daily interactions and learning experiences. It has been wonderful to see these values in action as the children supported one another, took on new challenges, and showed kindness in their words and actions. As part of our rewards programme in the Pre-Prep and Prep School, the children work towards achieving house points. These points are awarded for a variety of reasons, including excellent behaviour, showing kindness, putting in great effort with their school work, and helping others. We believe that this system encourages positive behaviour and motivates our students to strive for their best in all areas. Last week, Seven children in the Pre-Prep reached a milestone of 400 house points! To celebrate this impressive achievement, they were treated to refreshments and cake with Mrs Berry and Miss Taylor in the Pre-Prep office. Similarly, in the Prep School, Mrs Bridges was joined by over 40 students who had reached the milestone of 400 house points this year for some delicious cake. Additionally, 16 students who had reached 500 house points enjoyed lunch with Mr Liddell. Celebrating a wonderful DBS Scholars Afternoon Tea hosted by Headmaster Jonny Liddell, we honoured our newly appointed Leadership, Sports, Music, and Enhanced British Curriculum scholars.  The event was an afternoon filled with recognition and joy as we celebrated the outstanding achievements and bright futures of these exceptional students. Our Head of Mini Dragons, Miss Sarah, joined DBS in August 2023. With over 22 years of experience, she’s dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our children. Over the week, we tackled crucial points to ensure a strong finish to this academic year and set the stage for an exciting start next year.  Here's to continuous growth and innovation in education! 

  We have had so much fun in our final week! On Tuesday, we welcomed our family and friends for our Graduation ceremony. The children were amazing on stage - dancing, singing, and saying thank you to everyone who has supported us. This week, we enjoyed splashing around in the Garden, exploring new class activities, and singing our favourite songs. The Tulips have been an incredible class this year and have so much to be proud of. We look forward to seeing everything they accomplish and all the fun they will have next year. - Miss Taryna, Miss Angel, Gino, and Miss Sai

Wow what a fantastic year the Woodpecker class have had! I am so unbelievably proud of all the progress they have made. They have grown considerably in confidence, independence and resilience and have produced work to be extremely proud of. It was a joy to celebrate their successes at Prize Day this week and see the children beaming with pride. As they prepare to move into Year 2, the children have been reflecting on what they have learnt and how much they have changed. To showcase their amazing skills the children wrote letters to their new teachers to introduce themselves and inform them of their interests in and out of school.   I want to thank all the parents and guardians of the Woodpecker class for your unwavering support and encouragement this year, it is greatly appreciated. Finally, a huge thank you goes to all the children in the Woodpecker class for a fantastic year full of learning, laughs and fun - I wish you all the best of luck in Year 2, I know you will all be superstar

  What a year it has been! Well done Foxes on all of your hard work, effort and personal growth this year. I'm so proud of how far each and every one of you has come even in this final week. Well done for writing your own letters to your new class teacher and being so brave to go and deliver it to them and for showing excellent problem solving skills in maths this week! Thank you parents for all your support this year and I wish everyone a lovely summer break!  

Congratulations to all of the Mini Dragons students, families, teachers and key workers who helped them grow, learn and flourish this year. I would like to extend a particular thank you to Ms. Sophia, Ms. Nok and Ms. Rani for all of their hard work and dedication.     I look forward to seeing all of the Mini Dragons grow and learn in Nursery! It has been lovely to have everyone back and in class to celebrate the end of our fabulous year together. I couldn't be prouder of the Jellyfish Class, each and every student has made tremendous progress and it has been wonderful to see them grow independently and as a group. I have loved watching friendships blossom, independence flourish and personalities shine. Thank you for being the fun, crazy, imaginative, creative, and kind class you are. We will miss you all.

We have had a fantastic last week in the Sunflower Class and we are so very proud of the children.  They all met the challenge of being on the big stage for our Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday in their own way and showed how much they have developed this year.  They were so excited to see their families in the audience and have loved looking at photos from the event with us over the last couple of days. As we wrap up our final week in Reception and prepare to soar into Year 1, we've been buzzing with excitement about all that lies ahead. This week has been filled with memorable moments and learning adventures! In Maths, we took a trip down memory lane, revisiting all the wonderful concepts we've explored this year. It's been incredible to see how much we've grown and learned together. Our journey through the cosmos continued with some thrilling experiments. We concocted 'magic potion' and watched in wonder as it fizzed on moon rocks. Exploring star constellations, we created our own celestial patterns using marshmallows and toothpicks. Our exploration extended to galaxies and the Milky Way, where we crafted stunning chalk galaxies on black paper. On Thursday, we celebrated with a spectacular space picnic. Dressed in our finest space gear, we enjoyed a lunar picnic and engaged in a variety of space-themed activities. It was truly out of this world! Our year culm
