 Dear Parents and Guardians, We have had a great start to the term and the school is feeling lively and full of action. Our improved facilities are yet again making a big difference. We have started the year celebrating another excellent set of results that are well above the UK independent school average and one of our Year 12s has received their first university offer, a huge milestone for the school as we enter our first year of offering the full British curriculum up to Year 13. We will be publishing more about these achievements on our social media channels over the coming weeks. Our biggest challenge at the start of term has been Kids to Car. We have been quick to make changes which have led to improvement and we will be testing more changes in the coming weeks and then launching several other changes at the beginning of Term 1b. Dear Parents and Guardians,   Welcome back to the new academic year after what I hope was a lovely summer for your children although, after a week and a half of school, it almost feels like we have not been away! This week I would like to congratulate the current Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students for their outstanding results in the summer IGCSE and A level examinations. All of these students have had a tumultuous time over the past 3 years with multiple covid disruptions, but their resilience shone through and we could not be more proud of them all. Academic Excellent for All is one of our key pillars at DBS and is a cornerstone of our educational ethos. We hope this newsletter finds you well. It's been a wonderful and bustling first full week back in school. The corridors and classrooms have been filled with energy and excitement as our students dive back into their learning journey. Our little learners have been busy building new relationships with their teachers and peers. It's heartwarming to witness the connections forming and the laughter echoing through the hallways. We understand that some children might find it a bit challenging to say goodbye in the mornings. Dear DBS Prep Parents, Today marks the end of our first full week back at school, and we have well and truly started as we mean to go on! Fantastic ASAs, focused lessons, fun playtimes and fabulous friendships. Walking around the Prep School, you can feel the enthusiasm, determination, and a shared sense of purpose. After our introductory three days last week, the curriculum is in full swing, and it has been great to see staff and students supporting one another to make a positive start to the new year. A major highlight of this week was our first Friday celebration assembly that took place in the Araya Hall this morning. We united as a community to celebrate some superb successes that have already been achieved this year and make the first house point announcements. We were also excited to announce the upcoming Student Council elections in assembly this morning. A big thank you to all the parents who attended our recent Sleep and Movement Workshop. Establishing a consistent sleep routine is crucial for your child's development. A good night's sleep ensures they are well-rested and ready to participate in the exciting activities we have planned for them each day. Your commitment to this routine will greatly benefit your child's overall well-being. On the same day, we successfully hosted the Education City Workshop for parents of Year 1 and 2 students. This innovative platform will soon be introduced to our children, both in school and at home. It's a fantastic opportunity to enhance their learning experiences through interactive activities. We're excited to see the positive impact it will have on their education.
