Dear DBS Prep Parents,


Today marks the end of our first full week back at school, and we have well and truly started as we mean to go on! Fantastic ASAs, focused lessons, fun playtimes and fabulous friendships. Walking around the Prep School, you can feel the enthusiasm, determination, and a shared sense of purpose. After our introductory three days last week, the curriculum is in full swing, and it has been great to see staff and students supporting one another to make a positive start to the new year.

A major highlight of this week was our first Friday celebration assembly that took place in the Araya Hall this morning. We united as a community to celebrate some superb successes that have already been achieved this year and make the first house point announcements.

We were also excited to announce the upcoming Student Council elections in assembly this morning. This is an opportunity for our students to rise as leaders, express their thoughts, and actively shape the path of our school. We encourage all eligible students to contemplate this chance to make a meaningful impact on our DBS community. More detailed information about the election process and key dates will be shared with the students early next week by their class teacher or form tutor. Students in Years 7 & 8 will also have the opportunity to apply for the position of Prep House Captain, and we look forward to welcoming letters of application over the next two weeks.

Looking ahead, we look forward to hosting our Welcome Events for each section of the Prep School next week, as follows:

Tuesday 5th September - Year 3 & 4
Wednesday 6th September - Year 7 & 8
Thursday 7th September - Year 5 & 6

This event allows you to meet your child's new class teacher and hear about helpful information that will enable you to support your child over the coming year. We look forward to welcoming you to the D2 Black Box from 3 p.m. on the relevant day. The presentations will begin at 3:30 p.m.
