Pre-Prep Movie Night

Image
Pre-Prep Movie Night was an oceanic extravaganza as we dived into the heartwarming tale of Finding Nemo! From the moment the lights dimmed, our young adventurers embarked on a journey filled with laughter, friendship, and valuable life lessons. The underwater world came alive on the big screen as Nemo, Dory, and a cast of colorful characters captured our imaginations. The evening wasn't just about entertainment; it was an opportunity for our young learners to bond, laugh, and create lasting memories together. It was heartwarming to see friendships deepen and new connections formed as students shared popcorn and giggles. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this underwater adventure! Your enthusiasm and energy made the event truly special. Keep an eye out for future Pre-Prep Movie Nights and get ready for more magical moments ahead. Until then, just keep swimming! 🐠🎬

DBS hosted the second Netball tournament of the year in SH2.

Image
We welcomed teams from Shrewsbury, Kings College and Bangkok Prep. It was a brilliant morning with lots of fantastic netball from all teams.  Our first game was against Kings College. The girls quickly formed a good rhythm with moving the ball down the court and the defence worked hard for the turnovers. The final score was 12-0 to DBS!  Going in to our second game, we were slightly nervous due to our narrow loss against Shrewsbury. However, the girls very quickly put this behind them and took a comfortable lead ahead of Shrewsbury.  The second half caused some nail biting moments were Shrewsbury managed to equalise and then score an additional goal!! It all went down to the last 20 seconds where Niamh scored a goal to secure us a draw for the game. Our final game was against Bangkok Prep.  The girls played brilliantly, demonstrating fantastic defending and lots of great movement on the court which lead to a final win.  The final placings were determined by goal...

Otter Class HT4 - W6

Image
This week in Otter class, to bring our Spring term to a close we have been working on a variety of different aspects. In English, we learnt a poem about colours, and practised how to make rhyming couplets. We now know that a rhyming couplet is when 2 words have the same sound at the end of the word but the words do not need to be spelt the same. In Maths, we finished off the term with our learning assessments, and continued to learn about statistics, focusing on pictograms. Pictograms are a great way for us to show data using pictures! In Art we created our stained-glass window designs, using felt tip pens and laminating sheets. It has bene really fun learning about the origin of where these windows came from and how they were created.
