Otter Class - HT5 W5

This week in Otter class, we have had a lot of fun exploring our learning. In English, we have been learning a story map for persuasive letter writing. We also learnt what contractions are and how to use the two full words instead of a contraction in formal letter writing.

In Maths, we have had a lot of fun learning about position and direction. We have learnt about left and right, quarter turns and understand that forwards and backwards depends on the direction you are facing, so it is not always the same!

On Enrichment Day, we had heaps of fun, exploring fun activities centered around the storybook, 'Traction Man'. First, we started off by making a bedroom for Traction Man. We thought about our favourite items at home and what might Traction Man enjoy having in his bedroom. We then got creative and using recyclable materials, designed 3D models of his bedroom. We even painted and decorated them!

We wanted to thank Traction Man for his superhero services, and decided to bake him some cakes to say thank you. As a team, we learnt how to mix ingredients and worked together to make cake batter for fairy cakes. We then baked them and decorate them with icing sugar and sprinkles. We thought before Traction Man eats one, we better give them a taste test and ended up eating them all up at snack time! Sorry Traction Man, but we can confirm they were super yummy!!!
