Ladybird Week - 24th May

We’ve had a wonderful week filled with learning and exciting activities! Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

Maths: This week, our focus was on understanding the concept of sharing. The children engaged in hands-on activities using physical objects and participated in maths stories to help solidify their learning. Through these practical exercises, they began to grasp the importance of dividing things equally and the joy of sharing with friends.

Literacy: In literacy, we had an exciting time replying to our pen pals from a school in Scotland. The children were thrilled to receive letters full of questions and enjoyed spending time crafting their responses. Using their phonics skills, they formed sentences to answer the questions, which helped enhance their writing abilities and understanding of sentence structure.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World: We explored the fascinating world of animals and their offspring. The children learned about different animals, what their babies look like, and the special names given to them. This activity sparked curiosity and led to many interesting discussions about wildlife and nature.

Special Event - Friday’s School Trip: On Friday, we had an amazing school trip to Kiztopia! This adventure was a highlight of the week as we incorporated our story 'Giraffes Can't Dance' into a series of fun and mindful activities. The children participated in various exercises designed to build confidence and resilience, all while having a fantastic time.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another week of learning and growth!
