Ladybird Class - 17th May
In Knowledge and Understanding of the World, we have been exploring animals and their habitats around the world, learning why animals live in specific places. Using this knowledge, the children innovated our story map of "Giraffes Can't Dance." They changed the main character from a giraffe to an animal of their choice and updated the setting from Africa to a habitat that matches their chosen animal. The children illustrated their changes on the story map and wrote sentences to describe them.
In Maths, we have been revisiting shapes. The children have been manipulating, composing, and decomposing shapes to create new shapes and pictures. This hands-on learning has been both educational and fun, helping the children develop their spatial awareness and creativity.
We've also had an exciting time in the woodwork zone. The plans that the children drew last week have come to life as they sawed, hammered, glued, and drew to create their projects. This practical experience has not only developed their fine motor skills but also fostered a sense of achievement and pride in their work.
It's been a wonderful week of learning and creativity in Ladybirds Class!
