Head of Pre-Prep's Message

What an exciting and eventful week we’ve had in the Pre-Prep. Our children have been busy with so many wonderful learning opportunities and experiences, and we’re thrilled to share the highlights with you.

The week kicked off with the highly anticipated Year 1 and 2 Swim Gala. It was a super showcase of our children’s swimming abilities and a fantastic opportunity for some friendly house competition. We witnessed incredible swimming skills and remarkable sportsmanship from all the participants. A special congratulations to Sandringham House for taking home this year's trophy. Thank you to all the parents who joined us to support their children in this fantastic event.

On Wednesday, our Year 2 children dived into an enrichment day centred around their 'Traction Man' story. The day was filled with creative activities that brought the story to life, enhancing their understanding and enjoyment of the book. From designing their own superhero bedrooms to embarking on adventurous missions, including cupcake making and decorating, the children’s imaginations soared. This hands-on approach not only deepened their engagement with the story but also fostered teamwork and problem-solving skills. It was a day of fun and learning that left everyone inspired and eager for more literary adventures.

Friday was an exhilarating day for our Reception children and staff as they boarded the buses to Kistopia. The day was filled with the excitement of play, exploration, and discovery. At Kidzopia, the children immersed themselves in a variety of interactive play zones. They engaged in activities that encourage creativity, social interaction, and physical coordination. The joy and laughter throughout the day were palpable, and it was wonderful to see the children so animated and involved. This trip provided them with invaluable experiences that will contribute to their personal and social development.

Our Year 1 children had the pleasure of welcoming the Pottery Company from Koh Kret into school, where they experienced the art of pottery making. Under the guidance of skilled potters, the children had a super experience crafting their own pottery pots. They learned about the different techniques involved in shaping and decorating clay, which helped enhance their fine motor skills and artistic expression. The pride on their faces as they created their unique pieces was heartwarming. This hands-on workshop not only nurtured their creativity but also gave them a sense of accomplishment and joy in making something with their own hands.

What an exciting week it has been here in the Pre-Prep, filled with lots of lovely, engaging learning experiences. We look forward to more wonderful weeks ahead, packed with opportunities for our children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Best regards,
