Caterpillar Class - 17th May

This week we have looked at how we can manipulate shapes and use them to make other shapes and pictures. We learnt the word ‘rotate’ and used positional language to describe where shapes were on our pictures. We have enjoyed using our story map to create our own parts of the story replacing characters and actions to show our understanding of how our story sentences are structures. We have used the word ‘then’ to join our actions together.

As part of our learning about the world we have explored what a habitat is and talked about different habitats that are familiar to us. We enjoyed matching animals to different habitats and drawing a habitat for our favorite animals. In Jigsaw we talked about unkind words and how they make us feel. This week we were very happy to meet some real dentists who helped us understand why it is important to look after our teeth. We practiced brushing our teeth and then talked about how food is also important to help keep our teeth and bodies healthy.
