Head of Senior School Message - Gender equality: better but not good enough yet
International Women's Day, observed annually on March 8th, is a global celebration dedicated to honouring the achievements and contributions of women throughout history. Beyond merely recognising the struggles women have faced, this day serves as a reminder of the importance of gender equality and the need for continued progress in all aspects of life.
In communities worldwide, women play pivotal roles in leadership positions. From educators shaping young minds to parents nurturing the next generation, and students displaying resilience and determination, women contribute significantly to community development. Teachers, with their passion and commitment, impart knowledge that goes beyond textbooks, instilling values and empowering students to reach their full potential.
In addition, to the talks on famous and amazing women, the Senior School were lucky today to hear from female leaders within our own community talk and reflect on their own personal journeys. It was great to hear that we, as a society, have improved but there is clearly much more work to be done.
Happy International Women's Day everyone.
