Head of Pre-Prep's Message
Welcome back after what I hope was a fantastic and restful February half term break. It has been wonderful to see our Pre-Prep children return refreshed and eager to dive into more adventures in learning.
This week, our Year 1 and 2 children embarked on a thrilling journey through space during Creative Curriculum. A spaceman paid a visit during their assembly, igniting their imaginations and curiosity. From exploring life here on planet Earth to unravelling the mysteries of our solar system, including the revelation that our sun is indeed a star, and delving into the historic first moon landing, our young astronauts-in-training have been on an exciting voyage of discovery! Additionally, the children have also been busy investigating shadows and designing their very own planets. They enthusiastically pondered questions such as: What would their planet look like? What adventures await on its surface? How would life thrive in such a unique environment? The creativity and ingenuity displayed have been truly awe-inspiring.
We are committed to providing enriching experiences that captivate young minds and foster a love for learning. Our Creative Curriculum weeks are a testament to this dedication, and we could not be prouder of the enthusiasm and engagement shown by our students.
In addition to our cosmic adventures, the Reception children received an exciting letter from Farmer Duck this week, complete with seeds to plant, marking the beginning of their new topic on growing. The anticipation is exciting as they eagerly prepare to nurture their own little green shoots and witness the magic of growth firsthand.
Next week, Miss Taylor and I will be conducting learning walks around the Pre-Prep, visiting classrooms to observe and engage with the wonderful learning taking place. These learning walks provide us with invaluable insights into the progress and achievements of our students, and we look forward to sharing in their educational journeys.
On Monday, March 4th, we invite all parents to join us for our Pre-Prep Parent Forum in the Black Box. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to discover some of the learning experiences your children are enjoying and to address any questions or curiosities you may have. We look forward to seeing you there.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
Best regards,
Sophie Berry
