Head of Prep's Message
Dear DBS Prep Parents and Guardians,
This week, we have ended the half-term in style! There has been much to celebrate, from stunning U13 girls' and boys' sporting performances at last weekend's BISA tournaments to two dazzling Performance Time concerts showcasing our Prep School musicians' dedication and hard work. Even the teachers and parents got stuck at last night's basketball match, which was electric! In addition, we were delighted to welcome Year 7 parents on Monday for an engaging online evening of feedback, fostering a strong connection between home and school. It was a valuable opportunity for parents to gain insights into their child's progress and for teachers and parents to work together to support the students.
Today, we rounded off the half term with the much anticipated International Day, a kaleidoscopic celebration of diverse cultures that is always a highlight in the DBS calendar. We began the day with International Game Shows in both the Black Box and the Araya Hall, which allowed our students to share their impressive Geographical knowledge! The atmosphere was incredible!
The community came together with parents filling the Araya Hall for the premiere of our new school video and the International Day parade. It was an absolutely stunning and memorable morning for us all to be in one place, celebrating the school's growth and the unity of many cultures joining together. Every student in the school took to the stage, and we enjoyed a superb array of performances inspired by different cultures and traditions worldwide. International Day was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the inclusivity and acceptance that define our values at DBS.
As we conclude this eventful week, I extend my gratitude to the students, parents, and staff who made this half-term so memorable.
I wish you all a wonderful half-term break, and I look forward to seeing you when we return!
Very best wishes,
Mary Bridges
