Head of Pre-Prep's Message
This week our Pre-Prep department has been filled with exciting developments and valuable insights. We were delighted to host a workshop by a doctor from Phyathai 3 Hospital, focusing on the incredible power of play in early childhood development. Our approach to teaching in the Early Years revolves around the significance of play, and we were thrilled by the impressive turnout of parents for this enriching session. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who attended, and we sincerely hope you found the workshop beneficial. Should you have any further questions or require additional information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
A special appreciation goes to Dr. Bee for her engaging presentation. We are optimistic about the prospect of her returning to DBS next year to share more valuable insights into the importance of learning through play.
In the Early Years department, we've introduced woodwork as a new and exciting activity. It's heartening to witness the children actively engaging in this creative process, using hammers, handheld drills, and saws with adult support to craft wonderful pieces of wood sculptures. This hands-on experience not only enhances fine motor skills but also fosters creativity and imagination in our young learners.
We're proud to share that our new Mini Dragons class, The Tulip Class, has seamlessly settled into DBS. Our sincere thanks to Miss Taryna and her team for ensuring a smooth and enjoyable transition to school for these little ones.
As we navigate through a period of poor air quality, please rest assured that the safety of our children remains our top priority. We continuously monitor the air quality throughout the day, making informed decisions to ensure a safe environment for outdoor play. In cases where outdoor activities are limited, we provide engaging indoor play and activities to keep the children occupied and stimulated.
Lastly, a gentle reminder to parents of Year 1 and 2 students: our teachers are setting weekly homework on Education City. Your support in guiding your child through these assignments not only reinforces their classroom learning but also provides insight into the areas they are covering at school. If you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to reach out to your child's class teacher.
Wishing you a relaxing and restful weekend ahead.
Best wishes,
Sophie Berry
