Headmaster's Message 15th December
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week has been one to remember at DBS where the sense of community has been on full display.
Our week started with the Senior School Assembly with fantastic performances by a combined staff and student choir and awards given to students for their academic progress. On Tuesday we then moved on to the riotously fun Prep Assembly with a DBS version of the 12 days of Christmas, staff dancing and the staff pantomime. I can see some traditions starting here.
On Wednesday and Thursday, staff and students visited the Beaumont Foundation School in Chaiyaphum province, playing games with the students, giving every student in the school a shoebox full of Christmas gifts and celebrating at the end with an ice-cream. The smiles on the faces of the Beaumont School students were wonderful and this was a great learning experience for our students.
Today, we finished term with our Christmas fair. As our school has got bigger, these events always feel more vibrant and it was a wonderful way to conclude such a busy and eventful term.
Over the break, our students should take some time to rest and also use this time to reflect on what has gone well and what they can do next term to perform even better. As we transition from the days of being a start-up to the new era of being a large and established premium international school, our students should always be thinking about the new opportunities that they can explore at DBS.
I look forward to next term as we move forward with the launch of our new scholars programme, not just because of the benefit that this will provide to our most able students, but because of how our new scholarship structure will introduce new ideas and new ways of doing things that will benefit all of our students. Our programme will be unique in the city.
Have a restful break.
