Headmaster's message 17th November 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I write to you from London this week where I am coming to the end of a teacher recruitment round. Going to the market early, we have managed to get access to outstanding candidates. All of our candidates have gone through a rigorous multi-step process with both remote and face to face interviews.
I would like to focus this week on our U15 athletes who competed in the FOBISIA games. Their achievements were truly impressive. Over 4 days, they competed against schools from Malaysia, Vietnam and China in swimming, athletics, basketball and football. They won 22 medals in athletics including 6 golds and 23 medals in swimming including another 6 gold medals. In basketball, our girls came third and finished 4th in football after a fantastic playoff game.
The most emotional trials of this competition. happened in the boys under 15 football. The boys won all of their group matches, going into the final as the dominant team. The final battle was tough with the score 1:1 at full time. After extra time, there still wasn't a clear final leading to a nail biting penalty shootout where sadly, they lost on penalties.
This competition was an excellent opportunity for our students and they will have learned a lot from this challenging and rewarding experience. We are exceptionally proud of how they played in the competition and their sportsmanship.
Have a nice weekend
Jonny Liddell
