Head of Pre-Prep's Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to another vibrant week in our Pre-Prep! It's been a week filled with accomplishments, excitement, and delightful moments that truly showcase the wonderful spirit of our young learners.
We kicked off the week with the Spelling Bee House Competition. The children were placed into their houses and enthusiastically took on the challenge of spelling a diverse range of words. It was a tight competition, but I'm thrilled to announce that Buckingham House emerged as the winners! Nevertheless, every house displayed fantastic effort and teamwork, with Balmoral, Sandringham, and Windsor securing joint second place. It was heartwarming to witness the support from both children and staff for their respective houses.
Rehearsals for our much-anticipated Christmas productions are in full swing, and the excitement is palpable! Our Early Years students are eagerly preparing for their performance of 'Where's Santa' scheduled for next Thursday. We're looking forward to seeing you there and celebrating this festive season together. A heartfelt thank you to all who have provided our children with stunning costumes for this special occasion.
Tuesday marked our first Phonics Showcase, an event that showcased the excellent progress our Reception classes have made with phonics. Families had the opportunity to join the children during their morning routine and phonics lesson. Our successful staff training with the RWI phonics program has truly made a remarkable impact on the children's literacy journey. The progress we've witnessed is outstanding, and we're thrilled to have shared this achievement with you during the showcase.
Wednesday was an Open Day where we welcomed prospective parents to explore our school, learn about our exceptional Pre-Prep, and witness our excellent facilities. It's always a pleasure to introduce visitors to the remarkable experiences and education we offer here at DBS.
To conclude this eventful week, we had the Year 2 Fox class assembly. It was heartwarming to see so many families join us in the Araya Hall as the Fox class confidently took to the stage. They spoke, sang, danced, and shared their remarkable learning journey, showcasing their growth and confidence.
What an incredibly busy and successful week it has been in the Pre-Prep! Thank you all for your continued support, enthusiasm, and involvement in making these events so special for our children.
