We are thrilled to present a special showcase of our recent Music Tour to Malaysia. Over five enriching days, our talented students not only honed their musical skills but also embraced new cultures and created lasting memories. Each day was a unique adventure, from collaborating with Marlborough College Malaysia in Johor Bahru to attending gamelan workshops in Kuala Lumpur. These videos capture the essence of each day, revealing not just the incredible destinations we visited, but also the journey of growth and camaraderie among our students. DAY 1 - 11 October 2023


Day 1 of our Music tour is a wrap, and although it was largely a travel day, our students handled the journey from DBS to Johor, Malaysia, with the ease you'd expect from seasoned travellers. We capped off the day with a hearty dinner at the hotel, accompanied by a rather brilliant sunset.

DAY 2 - 12 October 2023


Day 2 of our Music tour has been an exhilarating mix of music, learning, and leisure. The morning was all about collaboration with Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM); we had an enriching vocal workshop and combined ensemble rehearsal, culminating in a joint performance. Big thanks to MCM for the warm hospitality and lunch.

The afternoon saw our younger students immersed in the wonders of LEGOLAND® Malaysia, complete with a STEM workshop on renewable solar energy. Meanwhile, our older students explored university life in EduCity and enjoyed some downtime at Johor's Paradigm JB. The day then wrapped up with a delightful dinner at Puteri Harbour. 

DAY 3 - 13 October 2023


Day 3 of our DBS Music tour offered another set of incredible experiences! Our morning began with a rewarding visit to Shattuck-St Mary’s-Forest City International School, where our students impressed with a heartfelt performance and vocal workshop. Our hosts kindly provided a delightful lunch to round off the visit.

We then journeyed our way to KL, capping off the day with a serene sunset dinner cruise along the Klang River, taking in Putrajaya's iconic architecture. What a way to close the day!

DAY 4 - 14 October 2023


Day 4 of our DBS Music tour was a whirlwind of culture and creativity! The morning kicked off with an immersive Gamelan workshop by Gangsapura, where students explore the beautiful melodies from the musical cultures of Nusantara. The afternoon featured a visit to the historic Batu Caves followed by a hands-on batik workshop.

We wrapped up the evening with an adrenaline-fueled Bomb Battle for the younger students and an enchanting Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra concert featuring the hits of Whitney Houston for the older ones. Truly, a day packed with diverse experiences.

DAY 5 - 15 October 2023


Capturing the essence of Kuala Lumpur on Day 5 from the heights of the PETRONAS Twin Towers and wrapping up our adventure with final keepsakes from Suria KLCC. A heartfelt meal marked the end of a remarkable journey as we took to the skies, homeward bound. Farewell, Malaysia - thanks for hosting us for DBS’ very first Music tour!
