WEST SIDE STORY MASTERCLASS

Earlier this month, on Tuesday, 03 Oct, some of our incredibly talented students had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the Bangkok International Festival of Dance and Music's Student Outreach Program hosted by ISB.


Four of our high-ability dancers and two Music scholars showcased their exceptional skills alongside students from various schools in Bangkok. They were privileged to learn from the remarkable artists of the West Side Story touring theatre company, who led an incredible vocal masterclass and dance workshop.


This masterclass was all about nurturing the next generation of artists, and we are proud that our students were part of this enriching experience. A big thank you to ISB, the West Side Story touring company, and the Bangkok International Festival of Dance and Music for this incredible opportunity! 🌟🎭  the future.

WEST SIDE STORY THEATRE TRIP


On Sunday, 08 Oct, a group of our Upper Prep and Senior students were treated to the timeless musical 'West Side Story' at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok.

THE PERFORMANCE

The show was a stunning blend of captivating choreography, stirring music, and poignant storytelling. Songs like "Maria" and "Tonight" left an indelible impression on our students, making the afternoon an unforgettable cultural event.

THE VENUE

Situated in the heart of Bangkok, the Thailand Cultural Centre is an architectural marvel, having hosted a variety of events ranging from classical concerts to traditional Thai performances since its inauguration in 1987. Did you know that the Centre's Main Hall has a seating capacity of over 2,000 and an orchestra pit that can accommodate up to 60 musicians? It's no wonder that this venue was the perfect backdrop for such a grand musical performance.

THE TAKEAWAY

The trip was not merely an evening of entertainment but an enriching cultural experience for our students. It also served as an inspiration for many, reaffirming the significance of the arts in nurturing well-rounded individuals
