Headmaster's message Friday 29th September
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week we held our Wai Kru celebrations where we held two ceremonies to celebrate the event, thank our teachers and wish our students well in the years ahead. We also held a lovely lunchtime concert in the D5 Dining Hall showcasing some fantastic musical talent.
Pre-Prep and Prep parents reps meetings took place this week and we have the Senior School meeting next week. I have been really impressed by the feedback that parents have given us. It is always useful to receive these suggestions and there is much that we can take forward to help improve the school. Next week we will also hold a Pre-Prep parent forum which is open to all Pre-prep parents and the following week we will hold a Prep parent forum. The senior event happened earlier in the term on a saturday. In these meetings, there will be a presentation from the Senior Leadership Team and an opportunity for parents to ask questions. After half term, we will also host a parents' coffee morning open to all parents. We would like to use this morning as an opportunity for parents to meet and also to encourage parents to get involved in supporting community events through the Heart of DBS group.
Next week is our Science week with a range of activities for our students to get involved in, culminating in our Science week assembly. I expect Mr Neville to make one of his very special appearances which are now becoming a DBS tradition. It should be a very fun week!
Have a nice weekend
Jonny Liddell
