Caterpillar Class - 29th September

Another exciting week has been enjoyed in the Caterpillar Class. Thank you to all families who were able to make the Swimming Showcase this week, the children were so happy to see you watching them learn in our pool and we hoped you liked seeing how amazing they are in the water. We all loved making posters to support our houses during the Year 1 and 2 Sports Day and then going along to watch and cheer as they all tried their best. In Phonics the Caterpillars have been blending the sounds they have learnt so far into words and have been using the magnet boards for word time. For Maths this week we began by looking at capacity and laughed at Mrs. Drake trying to get into a basket that was too small, then moved on to explore our knowledge of patterns using musical instruments to follow a beat. As part of our Talk for Write learning we became experts at re-telling the story before beginning to think about how we could change part of the story. Shadow Puppets were another highlight of the week as the children practiced how to make different animals using the shadow from their hands with the torches.
